<b>Tasting Notes</b><p>“Known for rich, deep color and exotic aromas, Petit Verdot fruit is a key component of Northstar’s flagship Merlot. For this wine, specific Petit Verdot lots blended for floral and chocolate aromas. Black current and blackberry flavors follow on the full, rich palate.”</p>
<b>Vintage Overview</b> <p>The growing season started cool, followed by 90+ degree days in July, these warm months contributed to the uniformity of berry maturation. In late summer temperatures dropped and cooled the vineyards, this allowed extra time on the vine to ripen and enhance flavor development. Moderate weather conditions during harvest contributed to mature fruit with intense flavors, good sugar development, and high natural acidity across varietals. </p>
<b>Winemaking</b><p>Petit Verdot was sourced from Stone Tree Vineyard on Wahluke Slope, Cabernet Sauvignon from Walla Walla’s Loess Vineyard, and Merlot from Northstar’s estate vineyard in Walla Walla. </p>
